So why use EDMR?

We have substantial experience and extensive repair facilities for equipment from all types of industry including machine tool, extrusion, plastics, packaging, robotics, printing and metal fabrication industries.

We specialise in the repair of CNC machine tool drives supplied by manufacturers such as Baumuller, Contraves, Control Techniques, Fanuc, Kollmorgen, Pacific Scientific Indramat & Siemens to name but a few.

We can also repair a wide variety of inverter drives which vary in power from a few hundred watts to tens of kilowatts.

Pinpoint Diagnostics

Using the latest pinpoint diagnostic repair centre we are able to repair the majority of industrial electronic products regardless of component configuration. Where possible we carry out a full functional system test. Our expertise, extensive spares holding and appointment as authorised repair centres for many of the leading manufacturers enable us to provide the service our customers demand.

Testing

With our extensive stock of motors we aim to fully test the drive with a matched motor. This enables us to fully test the functionality of the drive as well as testing the full closed loop operation.

Within the repair laboratory we have dedicated manufacturer workstations (Baumuller, Contraves, Control Techniques, Indramat, Fanuc, Kollmorgen and Pacific Scientific) with motors of various specifications hardwired ready for testing a specific range of drives. We can test drives from less than 10 amps up to 150amps (dynamic load).

Refit

As equipment becomes older so drives can become unreliable. Over a period of time drives become obsolete and spares are no longer available. Specialising in both AC and DC drive refits EDMR offers a professional service to further the life of your equipment by utilising modern motor and drive technology. We are able to offer a number of off the shelf refit solutions for a variety of industrial applications.

On-site Service

Sometimes it can be difficult to ascertain where a problem lies, motor or drive? At EDMR we have fully qualified field service engineers with years of experience in diagnosing problems with motor & drive systems. Engineers are available to visit site, investigate the problem and if required remove either motor or drive for workshop repair.  Remember at EDMR we can support both the motor and drive with equal levels of technical expertise.

Support

At EDMR we don't just repair drives and think nothing more of the customers. We like to build a relationship with our customers and try and improve the reliability of their drives. If we see a recurring problem we identify it and talk through the problem to see if we can locate the reason for a premature or repetitive failure. It's this level of support that major blue chip companies look for in their suppliers. We have repaired drives from over 100 different manufacturers and have repaired over 10,000 drives.

24-7-365

Reducing downtime is critical to our customers and we are here to help where we can. When our customers have an emergency we are able to offer an expedited repair service. Our extensive range of stock parts enables us to provide a fast turnaround without the costly delay in ordering parts from a supplier. More and more we are stocking complete service exchange motors and drives to cover these emergency breakdown situations. On occasions where we have to source parts from a third party we will keep you informed of the progress of the job.

Quality

Quality is at the core of EDMR. Established in 1988 it is a commitment to quality that has enabled us to remain the leaders in servo drive repairs. Our ISO procedures are specifically written to cover the repair of electric motors and drives. Comprehensive manufacturer work instructions are available for all manner of  drives which enables EDMR to provide a cost effective high quality service.

Pricing

Although we are able to offer a rough guide to standard repairs the most accurate way of pricing your repair is to evaluate, inspect and test it. On receipt of a drive this is exactly what we do. After the engineer has completed a full investigation (typically 2-4 hours) the details of faults, if any are found, are passed onto the service manager who then provides a fully itemised quotation detailing the parts failed and the cost of the repair. In addition the quotation will indicate how long the repair will take given current stock availability.
